Waverley De Caprio (Leo) is a fabulous dark bay gelding by legendary stallion and world number one sire De Niro. He was born on April 18th 2016 out of our St.Pr.A Oldenburg mare Samoa by San Amour x Rubin Royal x Burgraff. Since the earliest days he has demonstrated an ability to take weight behind and sit. He has three beautiful, active paces and excellent x-rays.
His dam, Elite and St. Pr. Samoa is an exceptionally high quality mare who, due to her excellent Performance Test scores, was invited to attend the Brilliant Ring at Rastede. Her oldest offspring, Waverey So Cliquot is currently five years old and has won every British Dressage competition she has entered (currently Novice Gold) and qualified for the Regional Championships in two outings. Leo is 50% owned by a great friend of ours and is for sale to a special dressage home who will be able to realise his potential, which we believe is significant.
De Niro is a sire of legendary status. He was vice champion of the stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf with a score of 141.93 points and champion of rideability with a score of 145.41 points. By the age of seven, he was winning at national grand prix, and he won the German Championships of Professional Riders in 2001. In 2002, he won international grands prix at Saumur and Berlin, and in 2003, he was the winner of the German Dressage Derby in Hamburg. But for all this he is perhaps more famous as a sire, topping the world breeding index for four years in a row, with more than forty licensed sons and more offspring than any other stallion competing at Grand Prix between 2014 and 2018.

About Waverley Stud
Based in the heart of England (near Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire - home of the British Dressage National Championships) we breed and train a small number of dressage horses each year. Using only Elite or State Premium Dressage mares of good character, together with the best international stallions (all of which are Performance Tested and proven) our stock is of exceptional quality and trainability.
Leni won the 4 year old class at Manor Grange yesterday with a score of 8.46. He was an absolute star. Thrilled with him. He has a real work ethic and three fabulous paces, so we're excited about his future.
