About
Rhaja was bred in Germany and is a jet black State Premium Mare. Happily combining some of the most proven sport horse lines in history, she scored an outstanding 9 for free jumping in her performance test and comes from the legendary ‘R’ show jumping and dressage line. She is a statuesque mare with great conformation, correct highly cadenced paces and active hind leg. Nothing fazes Rhaja. She is the matriarch of the herd and a highly experienced mother, fiercely defending her foals. She is in foal to British Warmblood Studbook licensed stallion, Woodlander Santana, for 2011.
Her Great Grandsire is the Holsteiner Ramiro Z who has been titled "Stallion of the Century" and "King of Sires". He has produced numerous international and European champions in both Grand Prix dressage and Advanced show jumping (including Ratina Z - described as the best horse in the world after Gold and Silver Olympic and World Cup performances), as well as many superb stallion sons and premium broodmares including Rhaja’s grandsire Ramino. Ramino is a stallion who proved himself at the highest levels of international competition and as a stud horse, to become the sire of numerous licensed stallions and brood mares including “Loretta", the dam of the stallions “Royal Hit”, “Diamond Hit” and “Sandro Hit”, and Rhaja’s sire Ramires, a licensed Hanoverian show jumping stallion.
Her dam is by Black Sky the elegant English Thoroughbred, who was imported to Germany in 1972. Black Sky was a grandson of the great stallion Djebel, who also sired the multiple stakes winning sire My Babu who, exported to the US, established a winning line of show jumpers and hunters. Imparting good rideability to his off-spring, Black Sky is also the sire of the influential dressage horse and sire Bolero whose most influential stallion sons have been the Brentanos I & II, Bismarck and Beltain who is the sire of Bellissimo the Champion Six year old horse at the 2005 Bundeschampionate.
Her grand-dam is by Gotthard, by Goldfisch II, who for seven years was the leading sire of show jumping horses in Germany. During his time he sired over 34 licensed stallion sons and 26 State Premium mares so that his influence continues to the present day. On his dam’s side, Gotthard descends for the Shagya Arab line of Amurath - also influential on the dam line of the ‘R’ line described above.
