Royal Romantic (pictured right with a Sandro Hit foal)  is a Verband Premium Rhodiamant x Donnerhall x Figaro mare from another family of Oldenburg 'royalty'.   Her mother, grandmother and great grandmother were all Elite and State Premium mares, and her breeder is convinced that Royal Romantic will be Elite too as soon as her competition progeny are old enough - all of them to date have been Oldenburg premium foals.  Out of 45 individuals in the mareline, 13 have licensed as Dressage or Showjumping stallions.  Her maternal grandmother produced two licensed stallions and eight horses successful in sport at PSG or above.  Her mother produced only Elite or State Premium mares and all Royal Romantic’s children who are old enough are progressing in dressage. Royal Romantic's mother, grandmother, and great grandmother have all been awarded Elite status due to their breeding achievements.

 

We have always wanted a Rhodiamant mare amongst our collection and so were delighted to find one from such an illustrious family.  Rhodiamant (see photos below) was won of the best competition stallions of the recent era.  He was the Champion of his licensing in 1992, Bundeschampion in 1993 and Reserve Champion of his performance testing in the same year with a dressage index of 150 points; but for us it is his competition record that really distinguishes this great horse: he was Bundeschampion of five year old dressage horses and then went on to achieve18 advanced level dressage wins and 20 Grand Prix placings.  In addition to his very active competition schedule, he has bred a staggering number of successful dressage horses including 50 licensed stallions, almost 90 State Premium and brilliant ring daughters and more than 100 offspring competing at advanced level or above.  In 2010 he was placed 3rd in the WBFSH rankings (which measures points achieved by Grand Prix offspring).  He passed away in 2011 following an unmanageable pastern fracture.
